This Privacy Policy explains how The Creators Company ("The Creators Company", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information. It applies to our marketing website at https://thecreators.company, our creator dashboard and storefront platform at app.thecreators.company and on creator custom domains, and our AI assistant connector (the "ChatGPT app" / MCP connector) — together, the "Services".

By using the Services you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. Who we are and the roles we play

The Creators Company is a platform that lets creators ("Creators") build branded online storefronts and sell digital products — courses, videos, downloads, and other files — to their customers ("Customers").

  • When we handle your own account and use of the platform, we act as the data controller.
  • When a Creator's Customers buy or interact with a Creator's storefront, the Creator is the data controller of their Customers' personal data, and we act as a data processor / service provider on the Creator's behalf. If you are a Customer and have questions about how a particular store uses your data, please contact that Creator directly.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide:

  • Account information — name, email address, password, and profile details.
  • Creator and business information — store name, branding, custom domain, and the products, pages, media, and other content you upload.
  • Identity and payout information — for verification ("KYC") and to pay you, we (and our payment partners) may collect identity documents, business details, tax information, and bank or payout account details.
  • Payment information — card and billing details are collected and processed by our payment processor (Stripe). We do not store full card numbers on our own servers.
  • Customer information (for a Creator's store) — when a Customer purchases or registers, we process their name, email, order, and payment details on the Creator's behalf.
  • Communications — messages you send us (e.g. support requests to [email protected]).

Information collected automatically:

  • Usage and device data — pages viewed, actions taken, IP address, browser and device type, and timestamps.
  • Cookies and similar technologies — used to keep you signed in, remember preferences, secure the Services, and measure usage. See Cookies below.

Information from the AI connector:

  • When you connect The Creators Company to an AI assistant (such as ChatGPT by OpenAI or Claude by Anthropic) and issue commands, we receive the requests you make through that assistant and the storefront data needed to fulfil them (for example, the page, product, or course you ask the assistant to build or edit). See AI assistants and connectors below.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • provide, operate, secure, and maintain the Services;
  • create and manage your account and authenticate you;
  • process orders, subscriptions, fees, payouts, and refunds;
  • verify identity and comply with anti‑fraud, anti‑money‑laundering, tax, and other legal obligations;
  • host and deliver storefront content, media, and video streaming;
  • provision and secure custom domains and SSL certificates;
  • enable and operate the AI assistant connector when you choose to use it;
  • communicate with you about service, security, and (where permitted) product updates;
  • analyse and improve the Services; and
  • enforce our terms and protect the rights, safety, and property of users and the public.

Where required by law, our legal bases include performance of a contract, legitimate interests, compliance with legal obligations, and your consent (which you may withdraw at any time).

4. AI assistants and connectors (ChatGPT / Claude)

The Services include an optional connector that lets you manage your storefront through third‑party AI assistants.

  • The connector is opt‑in. It does nothing until you connect it and grant access through the assistant's authorization flow.
  • When you use it, the commands you type into the assistant, and the storefront content involved in those commands, are exchanged between the AI provider and The Creators Company in order to perform what you asked (for example, creating a page or product, or reading your course outline).
  • The AI provider processes your prompts and the returned data under its own terms and privacy policy. For ChatGPT, see OpenAI's privacy policy; for Claude, see Anthropic's privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.
  • We do not sell your data, and we do not use the connector to access your store beyond what is needed to carry out your requests.
  • AI output can be inaccurate or incomplete. You remain responsible for reviewing changes the assistant makes before publishing them.

5. How we share information

We share personal information only as described here:

  • Service providers / subprocessors who help us run the Services, including:
    • Stripe — payment processing, subscriptions, and payouts;
    • BunnyCDN — video storage, processing, and streaming;
    • Cloudflare — custom domains, SSL/TLS, and security;
    • OpenAI / Anthropic — only when you use the AI connector (see above);
    • hosting, email delivery, logging, and analytics providers.
  • Creators, where you are a Customer of a Creator's store — your order and account data is shared with that Creator so they can fulfil and support your purchase.
  • Legal and safety — to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our terms, or protect rights, property, and safety.
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross‑context behavioural advertising.

6. Cookies and tracking

We use strictly necessary cookies (for sign‑in, security, and core functionality) and, where applicable, analytics cookies to understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the Services work.

7. Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Services, then for as long as necessary to comply with legal, tax, accounting, and dispute‑resolution obligations, after which we delete or anonymise it.

8. Security

We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information — including encryption in transit, access controls, and tokenised payment handling through Stripe. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International transfers

We and our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for international transfers.

10. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, and individuals in the EEA/UK have rights under the GDPR/UK GDPR.

To exercise your rights, email [email protected]. We will respond as required by applicable law. If your request concerns data held by a Creator (where we are the processor), we may direct you to, or coordinate with, that Creator.

11. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and change the "Last updated" date, and we will provide additional notice where required by law.
